League of Legends

League of Legends (Riot Games, 2009) is one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena games, or MOBA for short. In Summoner's Rift, two teams of five players each meet. The winner is the team that destroys the opponent's nexus first. At the beginning, the players each choose one of over 100 different characters (the so-called champions) and can then gain an advantage over their opponents during the course of the game with items, level-ups and buffs in order to get closer to victory. The regional leagues as well as the annual world championship inspire thousands.

The basic mechanics of the game are easy to learn, but to know all the subtleties of the game and all the characters in detail requires a lot of practice.
